The Obsidian fleece roll sumps have a lot of the same features found on our Platinum fleece roll sumps but instead of having an automated controller, the Obsidian sumps have a turn dial to advance the fleece roll. Simply turn the dial to remove the dirty fleece and roll in new clean fleece. This provides a more affordable option on a sump that has the fleece roll system built in and sized for the sump, which we found to be the most efficient design. Our fleece rolls have been lasting 4 to over 6 months, unlike filter socks that need to be changed every few days. You can also purchase the Obsidian Upgrade Kit at any time and upgrade to our new 2nd version of our automated controller that features optical sensors and a small screen to configure a bunch of options.<\/h6>\n
The Obsidian line is offered in two sizes: 34″ and 39″ where both use the fleece rolls that are 10″ wide.<\/h6>\n
This design will need to be manually rolled regularly, but if not there is an overflow outlet that prevents from any flooding. This design has the same diamond pattern found on the Platinum sumps for the water to flow through purposely using the most surface area on the fleece. The Obsidian sumps are fully upgradeable to the second version of our motor controller which comes with optical sensors and a small screen to configure a bunch of features. The Obsidian upgrade kit comes with all the parts needed to convert the Obsidian sump to have an automated motorized controller that will turn the fleece using either the optical sensors detecting when to turn or using timer mode which will turn the motor occasionally.<\/h6>\n[\/vc_column_text]

The Obsidian sumps come with 2 adapters for dosing inputs. The first adapter has 1\/4″ holes to drop in the dosing tubes. The second adapter can be used with quick connect input fittings. Note that these fittings are not included with the sump.
